This past weekend the Girls That Fly supported tournament “Vladimir Filin Memorial” was on in Russia, 15 km from Moscow. Vega waterski club is only half a year old and has a perfect setup for jumping.

The tournament was very well organized and the skiers really got taken care of in the finest way. The top jumpers in the world was invited and plus arranging everything on site the organizers arranged a sightseeing in Moscow Saturday evening.

The prelims was scheduled on Saturday afternoon in great conditions. The final round Sunday got postponed a few hours as everyone was hoping for the tailwind to either drop down or turn a bit. After a period with whitecaps it did drop and the finals began.

Jacinta Carrol from Australia was last off the dock and she had to beat Lauren Morgan’s 47,4 m to take the gold medal. She did and the ladies on the podium ended up being Jacinta Carrol 1st, 2nd Lauren Morgan and 3rd Marion Mathieu. Actually this was Lauren Morgan’s best placement at a pro event so far – good job girl!:)

We brought some of our GTF clothings and calendars, and must say it was very popular. Got sold out really quickly and it was fantastic to see the huge interest in our products! We made new friends and think there might be more little Russian GTF’s on the way:)
